MarWest – Project Coordinator

Marwest Industries located in Castlegar, BC is looking to hire a Project Coordinator in the areas of

roadworks, earthworks, and underground utilities. We are looking for a responsible teammate to
administer and organize all types of civil construction projects, from simple activities to more complex
plans.

As a Project Coordinator, you will work closely with our Project Manager to prepare comprehensive
action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. You will perform various
coordinating tasks, such as scheduling and risk management, along with administrative duties, like
managing project documentation and handling financial queries. The successful candidate should have
excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams
to deliver projects on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information
• Read & interpret blueprints and contract documents
• Abide by OH&S and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures
• Opening of the construction site: bonding, insurances, safe work notices, roadmap, provisional
work plans, scheduling
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports
• Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures
• Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives
• Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance inspections

Job Details:

• Position available immediately on a 1-year contract basis with career advancement and Full-Time
opportunities available for the right candidate

• Expected to work 40-50 hours per week
• Ability to travel to job sites, company vehicle available for use during work hours
• Overtime or weekend work as required

Job Requirements:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license abstract required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in civil engineering project management
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Products (word, excel, projects, outlook)
• Strong client facing and teamwork skills
• Physically fit and able to provide hands on effort if required
• Applicable Post Secondary Education, Training or Certificates
o Additional experience may substitute for the absence of post secondary education
• Must be safety orientated in all aspects of the work being undertaken (preparation, in-progress,
and cleanup), including identifying, reporting, or correcting all hazards and wearing Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) on a regular basis
• AutoCAD, Bluebeam experience an asset
• Other duties as required
